Why is it that kids and older gentlemen can pull this piece of fashion off? Seems like 18-45 year olds wearing one is "trying to hard". It's a classic staple in a Southern Gentleman's wardrobe.

I have a seersucker swimsuit that looks awesome, though full SS suits seem a little try hard.

No such thing as looking too nice. Khaki and light blue seersuckers look nice. You can't go cheap though, get showed up by someone else in a seersucker is a bitch.

I don't think it's trying too hard if your suit fits you properly. I've seen way too many people wear seersucker suits that are 2 sizes too big for them.

Times Change

Adapt-

This is not what presently works for a Memorial Service, but it damn sure was perfect a hundred years ago.

I have seersucker pants and shorts. Rarely do they get worn. And NEVER simultaneously are they worn.

It's a fine suit for a spring/summer deal. Really never considered it a try hard. I think of it as more of a luxury item that most don't spend the money on/don't want to/can't afford because of its limited situational use.

Of course I don't really get too concerned with another man's apparel unless you just look silly to look silly and then I call you silly and move on.
