But I think law is a good general education degree to get. Have heard that a lot. ,

Well that's funny, I was a C student at a Louisiana public school (LSU) which is likely much less prestigious than the one in the OP. I took well over 5.5 years to graduate, switched majors 3 times. Had multiple F's on my transcrpt, etc.

I have been employed and advanced since the day I graduated. I got a Masters while I was employed, and am now the youngest person in executive management of our company.

Perhaps this kid is the issue, not the school...

personal responsibility...learn some

Mildly amusing. Pretty close to true for a lot of young people though.

Almost always the case in a situation like this. I'm sorry, but if you have a graduate degree and are still unemployed after two years it is no one's fault but your own.

I am also pissed about the rise in tuition cost. When I started LSU, full-time tuition was around $1500. Just paid my tuition for 6hrs worth of summer classes at UNO, and it was $1900.

I have been looking at colleges for my younger sister lately also. I would say that the average cost of the 50 private colleges she is looking at is around $55k and public average around $47k. I have no idea how a school spends between $200 million and $1 billion a year without doing a single improvement other than buying a few computers.

Since my parents make more than $110k, it also cuts the financial aid packages in half, so they are looking at probably $35-50k per year in tuition after the aid. Ridiculous, and after typing this, I still have no idea where that amount of money goes

Entitlement mentality. Never ceases to amaze me how people think they are immune to market demands.

Why do liberal arts majors have to take no business courses, but I, as a business major was req. to take Lit. courses? If they had taken an econ. course they might have a greater understanding of WHY they are unemployed, or why poets are poorly paid, or Michael Jordan made millions playing a game....But no one listens to me.

Because the university needs dipshits to replenish its coffers of entitled pretentious professors who can't make it in the real world so they stay in college for the rest of their lives.

Law is a great "general degree." But it's not a good choice if you spend 200k for a mediocre school where you do poorly and you have 160k starting expectations.

If you can pay 40-60k (or less) for a top 50 school, do well, and have modest expectations, it's still a good choice. Need to cut # of law schools in half, though. ABA is terrible at not diluting the profession.
