I'm confused. Should this make CAD happy or piss him off?

We get paid less than we normally would. Sounds like lower than our cost.

Eta: Paid less for the same amount of work.

High C upset about Amazon. Is it still worth to buy my Hue lighting system that I plan to use with Alexa? I know this newfound information will have resounding affect, High C being upset and all. Is there any chance the company goes bottom up though and I lose my money?

WTF is this? I have Amazon Prime and will renew it. I've often wondered how the free shipping part of the deal was possible from a business standpoint. I found this article and brought it here.

Is it really below cost? Because I doubt USPS is losing money on this deal.

According to the article, it's "well below" the USPS cost to deliver. It's not sustainable, particularly since Amazon is probably the largest single customer by a long shot.

If the USPS didn't make this contract with Amazon, Amazon would have made it with FedEx, ups, dhl, etc.

Chances are much more likely that this contract is what is keeping the USPS viable.

Well they USPS isn't sustainable with improving technology.

Amazon will eventually build their own delivery system and drop USPS.

They likely have. Pretty sure that I receive Amazon packages from all three major carriers.

It's USPS. They lose money by default.

Then what's the issue? Amazon keeping a shitty entity that fricks up our deliveries often afloat? If so, I am in full agreement, I just didn't see that point in the OP.

Amazon is the devil, in my day anyone could get a job at the local Walmart and now, I am not sure my sun will ever even get to work the back room. What ever happened to small town American, mr Trump?

Apparently you can't criticize Amazon because they keep the pukes hidden from the consumers' sights. But yet we are encouraged to criticize Walmarks. Guess the folks in Benton don't donate as much to the right political party.

Amazon gets discount for bulk shipping that keeps USPS afloat

If USPS is delivering Amazon's packages for less than its own cost, how is it keeping USPS afloat?

We have a contract with a home warranty company where we set the cost of inspections lower than our usual rate because they give us a good bit of work. I need to let my boss know we're subsidizing them.

Did you read the OP? USPS is delivering BELOW THEIR OWN COSTS. If your company is doing inspections for less than your cost to perform them, then yes, you are subsidizing them.

I doubt any of those companies would make a deal that cost them money (delivering for below their own cost), but if they were willing, then hell yes, let them do it instead of the USPS doing it and costing ME money.

Exactly. It seems most on this thread do not understand that if it is delivered BELOW cost, then it is costing the USPS money to deliver packages for Amazon. Where does USPS get its money? Oh, that's right, from us.

Now, as an Amazon Prime subscriber, I am thrilled. Instead of the delivery costs being spread out across Amazon Prime users, it is being spread across all U.S. taxpayers. That means my subscription and/or the costs of my purchases won't be increased as much. Thanks fo subsidizing my purchases!
