It's new. I've been a prime member for about 5 years now and never saw this. I can't wait to see what kind of deals are out there. Although I don't have a ton of extra money to spend right now, it'll still be fun.

a week in advance say we have "better deals than black friday" but only to Prime members
thousands of people will sign up for prime to get the "deals"
a lot people will forget to cancel the free 30 day trial and amazon makes bank on people that will rarely use the prime service.

This is for their anniversary so I imagine it will be big. Wouldn't be surprised if they are selling everything at cost and promised vendors volume if they operated at razor thin margins.
