But in all seriousness, it explains in the article, there was no time. Their planes were the only ones available in the area. They had just returned from a training mission with no ammo, it would've taken almost an hour to arm the jet.

You have to do better than that to show it's not a factual story. I would think the gov't would deny that story by now if it weren't factual. She told it in 2011. So far, there's no book that I can find. Is she going to wait and write it for the 20 year anniversary? It's a great story, but it's a short one. I don't think we ever see a book on it.
