Am I the only one that hates slideshow/(prev<-->next) articles?

fricking hate these. Was scrolling down really that hard before? I dont want to go to 10 different links just to read one article. I wish this format would just die, but it seems to be doing the exact opposite.

All about the hits. Lots of stupid people that don't train their employees to properly track where their sales come from. Just keep seeing the high number of hits on websites.

Took a decade to train salespeople on how to sell online advertising. Will probably be another three or four years before the folks buying online ads catch up.

I always assumed they did this so that they could get more ad revenue. I also just close out of the article.

The worst part is that they are typically surrounded by a dozen shady looking ads and links.

They also will disguise a link to look like the arrow to the next picture.

I am on first generation iPad and I can't ever keep them open. Any way around this?

Same with sites like NOLA.com. Opens, read a bit and closes. Is this just because of my device?

I despise them. They always close on me. I don't even bother anymore. I also hate clicking on a news story and finding only a video. I can read an article much faster than a video version of the same story. I close those as well.
