I have heard the BBQ in the rooms complaint from hotel people before.

We stayed at La Pavillion over the Classic weekend one time and it was overrun with pimps n hoes.....but, I didn't see any real damage. That said, the hotel had shite on lock down.

People in Louisiana (of all races) are litter bugs, moreso than most other places.

Weird.

Granted, most of the Bayou Classic people hadn't arrived in the city yet, but I stayed in Hilton Riverside on Thursday night, and there were very few Classic people as far as I could tell. TONS of people checking into the hotel when we were, but most were Asian.

I never go to New Orleans for the bayou classic and my relatives all come to Baton Rouge. I would gladly welcome a move to another venue - we can always send it to Houston, oh wait, they learned their lesson post Katrina thinking these people are civilized.

You should hear the stories from the Myrtle Beach businesses regarding Black Biker Week.

Daytona has one, too. Basically all business shut down and residents leave town.

Maybe LSU should put out more cans so the trashbags don't pile up next to the cans only to have jackarse little kids tear em up during the game.

Or maybe people can pack-in/pack-out instead of blaming it on someone else. A progressive concept, I know, so it probably won't be received well in Baton Rouge.

If LSU didn't charge me $40 for the express purpose of helping to clean up after the games, I would be fine with that.

There is a new hotel here in Jacksonville that is owned by a black church. The hotel is actually on the church property (how about those donations...). It's called Marble Waters and the online reviews are pretty funny/stereotypical. Look it up if you're really bored.

I believe Essence attracts middle class people so you're not going have the issues you do with a younger crowd.

LOL at packing out trash. There's too much of it for one, and that's why God gave us inmates and other miscreants.

The crowd at Essence Fest is completely different than Bayou Classic.

Correct. It's a bad misconception that Essence fest people cause problems. Haven't heard of any issues with this group and when I've been downtown while they were in town, it generally looked like a nice crowd.

Now it is true that several restaurants close during this time, but it's mostly due to the restaurants just being dead. Half of N.O. goes to the beach for that week and it's a good time to close to give everyone a break or maybe do any cleaning.

Last LSU game I was at, the campus looked like a garbage can. Trash everywhere - people just throwing it on the ground, cans overflowing, trash around the cans.

Maybe it was just that day, but I was taken aback by how sloppy people were. It was 2 years ago.

Oh, LSU fans are awful. They use the campus as their own personal trash cans.

Yeah, drove thru campus Sunday morning after the LSU v. Bama game last month. The trash was unbelievable. They had an army of kids and inmates cleaning it up though.
