I got a rescue pit in 2016 and she’s the best dog I’ve ever had.

Here she is at Camp Bow Wow….at CBW they use her to test the temperament of new recruits… no lie.

Good luck

I find that larger dogs are usually more afraid of fireworks. I don’t know why.

There’s plenty of non pits at the shelters too.

I have a pittie and I love all dogs but they’re definitely difficulty level:high when it comes to dog ownership. You really gotta know what you’re getting into.

Most responsible adoption places will do a meet up with your dog and the dog you're looking to adopt to make sure they get along.

That they are. I have two myself I agree with that, though they're great dogs with the right training.

Our Yorkie tried to show a pit that had never shown any signs of aggression that he was the boss. Killed him in two seconds.

He’s a good dude, but he’s definitely working it. He probably doesn’t really own a Yorkie either.

We used to have an American Staff Terrier. She was very gentle and loving. She did like to chew on things but was quick to train to limit the chewing to her toys.

Hahahaha

To back up AntiqueTiger tho, my wife’s yorkie isn’t afraid of fireworks. That dog goes out and adds to the noise with her barking. Will even get our lab to go out to bark.

If yorkies were 50lbs they would be worse than labs because of what they were bred for. Pits were bred to latch on and not release and later bred for fighting. It is what they are.

I don’t mean to be rude, but with your cute little dog, why are you even thinking of adopting a pit or mix?
Pick a breed that you think would work well with Paisley’s breed, then contact that breed’s rescue group. There are many times an older owner passed away and their nice dog needs to be placed in a good home. Or go to a local AKC Dog Show, meet some of the breeders and see if anyone will have a retired conformation dog that they are looking to place.
