There were many positive things about the 60s, ranging from equal voting, housing and education rights to the best-ever LSD. Unfortunately, all was negated by the nearly six years that Richard M. Nixon was enthroned as president. He came within a hair's breadth of dragging the republic to Titanic depths of spiritual and karmic bankruptcy. His election in 1968 is a tragedy from which our nation never fully recovered.
