This does seem like a good way to guarantee that this story is covered by major media outlets.

Shutting down greek life makes it an easy target

Maybe, but what is the alternative from a PR standpoint?

Pretty much.

Scruffy was never in a fraternity, but the disdain and hatred some people have for them is absurd.

fricking Alexander and his SJW brigades must have a hard on for this. They've been spoiling for this opportunity.

Arresting the fraternity brothers involved in the crime and removing said fraternity from campus?

Shutdown the fraternity involved. Kick them off campus for good.

Why punish all of them? Were they all involved?

When was the last death of a greek student on campus? Has their been one since Ben Wynne?

Trying to see the precedent here. Was Greek life suspended back then?

ETA: I'm not sure if Wynne died on campus. I know he was at Murphy's that night, which is just off campus. Sorry if my post is incorrect.

How are these Greeks truly being punished? They can't have a social for the time being?

It's about time. The Romans have been oppressed far too long.

So, all of the Greeks were involved in this? Every fraternity and sorority?

Why should they all be punished?

That would be fine and appropriate, but I'm asking what is the better PR move, not necessarily the move that provides the most justice.

Outright suspended? No.

But that was the trigger for new rules and the beginning of the neutering of the system.

The move that actually involves justice.

Punishing every individual within the Greek system for something that only one fraternity did isn't justice.
