Where is Southpoint? I moved out of DS in 02 and don't remember.

It's about a mile from where Juban dead ends into 16 heading towards Port Vincent

I refuse to deal with the Eastover Estates trash that frequent that Walmart Market. It's worth it to me to pay more to go to Rouses on Juban.

Rebuilding from last August flooding. Still one of the nicer subdivisions in Walker.

I think this is what killed the previous winn dixie. There were always pan-handlers in the parking lot. But the 1 way traffic seemed to have stopped this. Not sure why albertsons doesnt do well other than prices, but Carters and oak poitn seem to do ok, especially without walmart for 9 months.

My dad said when he was a kid this spot was a public swimming pool. I say we bring that back

I go to the one in Watson and heard a couple of people talking the other day that Rouse's is trying to buy Oak Point.

I hope this is just a rumor.

I go to this Albertsons at least 4 times a week. I have never been approached and can't ever remember seeing any beggars.

The place always seems to have good business. Sucks that they are closing. I can't stand shopping at Walmart and Carters has such a limited variety and low quality meat.

Why any non crack head would step foot in a Walmart is beyond me. WM Pick-up is the GOAT and if you only need dry stuff ordering online w/ free shipping is the way to go

Albertsons doesnt have them because of the 1 way traffic. Before hwy 16 rerouted was the Winn Dixie and rodeo drive spilled over into the parking lot. You couldnt go there without getting hit up for your pocket change.

What does one-way traffic have to do with beggars hanging out in the parking lot?

The hwy 16 traffic keeps rodeo drive from spilling over into the parking lot like it did with winn dixie.

I miss the quality of the Albertsons on Old Hammond and Airline. The late 90's - early 2000's that store was awesome. What led to its decline?

Guess what I mean is that all they sell there is "select" grade. If you want a decent steak, given the choice, you might as well buy a steak from Walmart.

Carter's on Pete's Highway dissapoints me with their steaks a lot of times.

I've had good ones as well, just a little inconsistent. Until the neighborhood Walmart came around the people that worked there were not very friendly. They have changed since the WM opened.I still go there to grab a few things. I guess in the end I just like options and decent sales and Albertsons had that when I wanted to take my time and not fight through crowds of people at WM.
