Why would they put a Neighborhood Walmart a 1/2 mile from the Super Walmart they just re-built?

I blame the Alabama fan store manager

He might be an Alabama fan, but he's a nice guy and always willing to help. He had an impossible task of surviving there. They gave away almost all their inventory during the flood to folks that were getting dropped off there.

They put one off of Pete's Highway only a few miles away from the Super Walmart. Also, they can take advantage of Martin Luther King ( old Rodeo Dr) crowd that don't drive.

the help is complaining that the albertson's at government and foster is always out of essentials. at least i think that is her complaint, since i don't speak spanish.
What the hell does this have to do with the one in DS?

Did you just feel like posting something about an Albertsons?

Should make it a combo Grocery/Check Cashing/Baby Clothes/Shoes/Rent-a-Rim complex. Will print money.

The DS location wasn't lacking customers. People are always in there. Now the few checkout lanes opened could have frustrated some, but on the weekends there are plenty of people coming through there.

It's funny that Rouse's is so popular now. They had one in denham back in the day and it shut down because no one shopped there

I was the Produce manager when it closed........

The old Winn Dixie in Walker will be one of those pay 10% above their price stores.

I hope that doesn't come to Denham, but I guess something is better than nothing.

If it sits too long they will probably turn it into a Flea Market.

A Oak Point store would be good.

Albertsons has always been an enigma to me. They're out of Idaho and had such a strong presence across south Louisiana for decades.

I like the one on Old Hammond and Airline

I would be thrilled if Oak Point moved into that location.

Back in the early 2000's I worked there and that store kicked arse... but they went the Wal Mart way and moved a whole bunch of full time employees to part time to save on insurance costs... the store has gone downhill ever since... it is a prime location and the Mini Wal mart across the street didn't help.

They had customers all the time there.... the people from north Dunham would go there instead of going to Watson... I think they out priced themselves....

And after I left Albertsons when they went to the part time bullshite I went to Wal mart on college... I was part of the crew that built the inside of the store.... but after about six months of dealing with the traffic I transferred to the O Neal location where Jan worked...

When a huge Albertsons in Ruston closed, James Davidson bought it for near to nothing and "sold" it to the city. They turned it into a really nice library with meeting rooms. Mr. Davidson basically donated it to them.
