It's never been "great", but at least it used to be way cheaper. Now they have so many damn fees it's just as expensive as a hotel. We got charged an additional $500 cleaning fee once and I swear my clean freak wife left that place cleaner than we found it. It was immaculate. We fought it and had no way to win.

Yep. They charge crazy high cleaning fees and they have a list of chores they want you to do: wash all the sheets and towels, take out the trash, cut the grass, repaint the living room.

Mackey refused to pay up, leading what his lawsuit called a “an extortion attempt” by Fohler, who allegedly set up a fake email account with a sexually suggestive handle, Shawn69@outlook.com, which she then used to send an email with the subject line “Nice bag” to Mackey’s wife at her place of work.
the dude is a real piece of work, but damn this lady went several extra miles here.

This dude needs to sue the everliving holy frick out of this bitch. He should do everything in his power to destroy her and her ability to ever rent anything to anybody on airbnb - or really any other site. While cheating on his wife does make him a piece of shite, extortion/moral high ground trumps the scale. He needs to make it hurt and send a message to any "superhost" that thinks this kind of behavior is remotely acceptable.

She didn't do it because he was cheating, she did it because he didn't pay his bill. It's all on him.

This situation aside, frick Air BnB and their dumbass hosts and rules. These owners are insufferable half the time. Enjoy the $900 cleaning fee and $300 stay. lol.

The owner looks like this:

The renter is a playuh, having his posse and side-piece over for a party. This was destined to fail from the inception. They should flog them both, on pay per view, and send the profits to me.

The white owner didn’t want a ghetto house party at her Airbnb that would cause issues with the neighbors. She got complaints. Fined the renters. Renters didn’t pay the fine. She then got personal.

Do all AirBnBs have this restrictions? $567 a night, that's a little steep IMO. What I don't get is that people are renting houses that are in neighborhoods and if you are going for a little get away you are looking to have fun so you are not going to bed at 10PM and you might want to turn the music up a little bit, but you are in a neighborhood. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Might as well go stay at some resort or something where you can get multiple people to chip in, etc.

I stopped renting AirBnB’s when I found a webcam mounted on a wall in the living room. I reported it to the owner and then unplugged it as we did not feel comfortable with a camera watching us.

You missed an opportunity to try to catch them on a count of video voyeurism.

Not down with cheating and I find loose women deplorable, all of them even the ones that are married and act holier than thou to this day. Men are scumbags as well but different.

That being said the landlord is a pos.

did you even read the story.... right now it is a he said she said.....and to me sound like SHE is lying. If she is right she would have all the evidence needed.

Or maybe the guy who rented the place should have followed the rules about noise/number of guests, etc?
did yall even read?

quote:

“I am very sorry but you have violated the no party rule, disturbed my neighbors by cursing and yelling in the parking lot, and have unauthorized guests,” the suit said Fohler wrote. “I am asking you to leave now. I can’t allow you to stay, I am sorry.”

Mackey’s court filing dismissed Fohler’s claims of yelling and profanity as “unfounded accusations,” stressing that “none of this was true.”

Instead of the additional guests initially listed, only one additional guest had shown up for a total of five guests, the complaint argued.

“No party had taken place. No one had been yelling or cursing in the parking lot There were simply pretexts for the host and Airbnb to collect more money,” according to the suit.

Having nowhere else to go, Mackey called Fohler’s number, but instead spoke to her husband, Jamie, who assured him that he could “continue his stay without further consequence or interruption.

if there are cameras every where, she should have evidence of the 9 people she claims and the hooting and hollaring out in the parking lot.

Eh, it's her 6-figure investment, I'd have a pulse on my investment as well. Even if she is controlling, she gave him the rules, he agreed to comply by said rules, broke them anyway and skipped payment.

I’m not claiming to know where the truth lies on this one, but these hosts are known to change the rules mid game to milk more money out of their guests. I once had a host try to charge me for having extra guests and an undocumented pet at the lake house I rented for my family the week before. I sent him the correspondence where I informed him my child (the “extra guest”) would be accompanying my wife and I, and asking him what info he needed on my dog. He then changed course and tried to charge me for damaging his router and not running the dishwasher when we left.

Seems like this would be easy to prove via cameras so imagine this is true so no rules were really broken?. Host sounds like a bitch and guest is a POS.

That's why hotels are better than AirBNBs: in hotels, you can run hoes in and out of there 24/7 with no additional charges
