Should gave two gauges.
One shows pressure in tank.
The other shows out put pressure. This is adjustable by using the knob between the gauges. Can adjust up or down. Air tools are rated by psi. Too high and you could break the tool, too low, tool will not operate properly. Example would be a paint gun.

so how do you handle airing up bike tires to 110 psi and car tires to 32 psi?

is it not possible to set those through some doodad on the end of the hose so it will automatically stop after it reaches that level?

or do i have to buy a stupid $3 gauge from autozone and keep testing with that as i air up the tires?

Go buy the $3 gauge so you can check without having to use the compressor regulator

thats all i was asking. this is new to me so i wasn't sure if there was the equivalent of a psi version of a torque wrench so i can be a lazy arse and get all my tires to 32 psi.

You've never been around one or seen one used before?

Fair enough

Most air compressors have a hose with a 1/4'' quick connect at the end of them. All of the attachments usually hook up to that.. Some people have retractable hose reels which are very nice to have.. if you use your compressor in your garage you can suspend the reels from the rafters/ceiling to save space and it's pretty handy up there

The Harbor Freight one is actually decent with the exception of the hose quality. I have it and had a local rubber supply house make me a quality hose. Probably into the whole setup for $125.

It'll stop catching soon, and you're gonna get annoyed and hit it with a hammer

Possibly, but also could run fine for the rest of my life.

For home shop use seems good so far (a couple of years).

Love this thread. CAD will start a thread on the OT looking for instructions on how to use an Air Compressor when he admittedly doesn't know, but starts an I hate this POS its useless thread when he admittedly doesn't know how to operate an Amazon Echo Dot.

i knew how to use it, the search feature was unusable after being used to google though. everything i asked it didn't understand.

also i asked in that thread what i was missing.

big difference.

To air up a bike tire to 110 psi you would have to adjust the out put to 110 psi. Out put will not be higher than 110 psi.
You could do the same for car tires at 32 psi but adjusting output is not needed. Leave it set high and just use short burst to air up car, lawn mower etc..... tires.
You would need a tire pressure gauge to check tire pressure.
Other tools state max operating pressure.
