That motor and compressor ain't no joke. The fact that the tank only allows 130psi is though. A regular impact usually needs 125 at the regulator

Thanks for the info
I forgot about the nail gun function. When he gave it to me (his old one), I was like great...another piece of equipment that will sit in the corner of my garage doing nothing but filling up bike tires.
ETA: re read your post

Never used mine much except to fill up my car's tires. Rebuilding my house and using the nail gun is a God send.

Nice inheritance. Remember, the IRS gets to use it half the time.

Let your daughter put to much air in your wheelbarrel tire and blow it up, like mine did last weekend.

i assume i'd want some type of gauge on the adapter so we can tell when it reaches a given PSI.
is there the 'psi' equivalent of a torque wrench where it would simply cut off after it reaches a pre-set level? does that even make sense?

Make sure the tank has been drained and keep it drained and check for excessive rust on the bottom. Also, verify the overpressure valve is still working (pull the little ring on it).
These kinds of compressors have been known to come apart. Not often, but it does happen if the tank rusts out on the bottom.
Draining the tank to get rid of the condensate should be done often but it's one of those things that is typically neglected.
