Pretty fuuny.

Budget crisis. Solution, raise taxes to pay police to write more tickets to extort more money.

The crooks are grasping at straws to find a replacement for their lost cookie jar that was the bridge tolls.

There's also been a large increase in parking tickets in residential areas. Surprise surprise.

Wouldn't the $200k be better spent on 5 new NOPD cops? Im pretty sure robberies and murders are more important than someone going 70 in a 60. Sounds like an inside deal

Will the new troopers even be on the same radio frequency as NOPD? It would be funny if they were down here to help with "crime", but wouldn't ever know if an actual crime just went down under the overpass they're parked on

The idea of this is to free up NOPD from traffic calls and let them do more city patrols, hence, helping to fight the robberies and such.

NO is another example that democrats will drive a city into the ground.

When there's no incentive for people to get off welfare and stop milking the government to sustain a living, this is what happens. It crumbles.

I swear the amount of bums on corners in Nola is astounding. I am really warming up to the place since I am there a lot more lately, but I still can't stand the liberal hoopla and bleeding heart mentality it gives to the lazy, nonworking crowd.

They rarely patrol the interstate as is. If they hired note NOPD cops, they'd have extra guys on the streets when accidents weren't happening

They should send some LSUPD cops down there to give those super troopers something to actually do besides eat kolache kitchen and execute adderal sting operations in Middleton

What? Troopers are all over i10 in Jefferson Parish. I've never driven through there and not at least seen one.

But to your other point, 200k wouldn't give you but maybe 3 extra cops when you I close pension and insurance and whatnot. 200k can be stretched more paying troopers to come cover interstates rather than just trying to get 3 more cops.

They have been all over JP lately, but almost no one patrols the interstates in NO

I have been seeing more radaring lately. Saw NOPD on Tchoup near Washington radaring then two troopers on 610 yesterday as well.

Well yeah, before this they didn't because NO is a municipality as you knowknow, and troopers don't generally patrol that.
