Define negative effects.

Adderal and other medications of its kind do have addictive properties and can have a withdrawal like effect.

The issue is that people hear "withdrawal" and assume it means something along the lines of DTs. You won't get the shakes or nausea and vomiting.

The main symptoms of adderall withdrawal are fatigue, hypersomnia, increased appetite, and poor concentration.

Marijuana has a withdrawal effect as well. It is slight though.

If it makes you feel better, the withdrawal is very short.

Just pointing out that the idea that it isn't addictive or that it doesn't have withdrawal symptoms is a false belief.

Marijuana also has addictive properties, despite what people say.

And now this thread will go 20 pages.

I can tell the difference when I'm not on it, I might get a slight headache. But I also go weeks without it at times.

To summarize for everyone:
1. The gubberment limits the amounts of that can be made and imported, there is usually a shortage this time of year running into december. I personally wonder if this is done in order to push doctors to prescribe/people to buy more expensive drugs with no generics such as vyvanse.

2. They are addictive for some people, most people can control themselves though. My wife takes them sometimes and has no ill effects stopping them and certainly much less side effects than stopping SSRI's.

3. ADD isn't the only thing adults take them for. Narcolepsy comes to mind as well as some sleep cycle disorders and weight loss.

4. Adderall is a DRA(Dopamine Releasing Agent). Ritalin is a DRI(Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitor)similar to cocaine's mechanism of action. Both can be taken safely in moderation as long as your doctor is properly monitoring you.

5. Sam's Club

I've been taking Vyvanse for a little over 5 years, and I have about 15 extras. I don't skip doses very often. I'm glad that I've never developed a tolerance.

It's not even addictive
are you kidding me?? ;(

YOU may have gotten off of it without any withdrawals or something but that doesn't mean it isn't addictive... I can almost one quadrillion prescient guarantee that you didn't just quit taking it without switching to something else or having some other kind of meds that would have hid the withdraw

Do you even schedule 2 bro?

Yes I agree that the fed drug laws are sometimes fricked up in their scheduling. (Mainly Mary Jane being a 1) but there is a lot of truth and info in their scheduling of controlled substances.

Took it for 13 yrs huh?

Not my fault you don't know what an addiction is. I know countless people that couldn't get out of bed without it. Just BC you dont have withdrawals doesn't mean its not addictive. Addiction is not synonymous with abuse. You are wrong.

Lol pls. It's fine unless you're abusing it
no doubt... Nearly everything is fine at moderation.... Saying it is not addictive is being darth vader level retardation though...

shite some of the heroin addicts that I have met in their 50s that have been doing it since Nam are some of the youngest looking and taken care of people I know.... These are the ones that never over done it and would buy their bundle once or month and just do their dose once a day in the morning and live their life like normal people. Turns one heroin at the proper dose does basically no harm to the body.

Counselors have told me certain people it has been almost a fountain of youth type of effect.

The issue with it is how highly addictive and people over using and all the other stuff that comes alone with it (a lot being the legal ramifications and social stigma that can ruin a mans life just as fast as ODing)

I won't go that far, but it is a crutch many use. I think I know as many people that use add meds that could get by in life without it as I know people that really need to take it every single day.

Probably the most over diagnosed "disease" and adderal/vyvance are probably the 2nd most prescribed "feel good" drug behind oxy/hydrocodone.... Excluding blood pressure meds and stuff like that.

Eta: (DISCLAIMER) not a doctor but did take biology and Organic chem....... And few stints in rehab facilities

I disagree. My ex had the blue 7.5s and took 3 a day, she took them for like 5 years. Anyways, for a month she took my blue 1mg xanax by accident instead of her Adderall, she thought they looked alike, and she didn't even know until I pointed it out to her!
