First off, i thought we were talking about the twin towers, not the smaller one that collapsed later. sorry.
Secondly, is it that hard to believe that a building 1300 feet in the air might not fall STRAIGHT down when there's a huge explosion 3/4 of the way up the building?
I had a middle eastern dipshit professor explain to our strengths class how the design aided in the towers falling STRAIGHT down and how it was a successful failure in how the buildings fell.

WTC 7 had CIA black OPs in it right (came out later to be true)? If I was in the CIA and something like the plane explosions compromised national security intelligence by leaving all that info/data exposed, I can see why they would take it down - would compromise all our intelligence.
Think about the world descending into that area and this super classified office is just sitting there exposed for reporters etc.
With that said - the planes did it.

Also, check out Madrid Windsor Tower Fire. Pretty bad stuff and the building didn't collapse as these experts predicted for a steel frame building fire. It was a partial collapse. Regardless of the cause, conspiracy theorists will always have the demolition style collapse of all three buildings to rely on in arguments.

Why would they demo WTC 1 or 2 75 floors up? When you demo a building the explosives are planted on lower floors and then gravity does the rest

Why couldn't both be true.
1. Planes hit towers in a legit terrorist attack
2. CIA has an "oh crap" moment realizing they need to dissolve all their exposed intelligence
3. They take it down to protect info leaks - black ops data
Kinda stupid sounding now that I type it out - but that's a LITTLE more feasible considering it has been confirmed the CIA did have secret offices in WTC 7.

The collapse of the two main towers is pretty easy to explain with initial structural damage combined with the heat of combustion of the jet fuel weakening the integrity of the remaining supports.
The collapse of WTC 7 is more interesting as far as failure mechanisms go, simply because fire caused by office materials undergoing combustion usually wouldn't bring the tensile strength of the steel down far enough for complete failure.
Anyone know how much structural damage was done to the building due to the collapses of the other two buildings?

I believe it was supported by exterior columns that were destroyed on the side facing the first two collapses.

yes they are designed that way. It's great it worked. People can make mistakes in design and workmanship.

This would mean the CIA had to already have the building rigged with explosives situated at precise locations and timed to go off in the correct succession in order to get the building to come down in the manner that it did. Not saying that's impossible, just pointing out that if #2 in your theory is true, they already had to be ready because here was simply not time from the moment the planes hit the main tower to when WTC 7 collapsed for them to have rigged the building to come down. You would need days, not hours to prep the building for a controlled collapse.
