Seriously. Watching all the bullshite in regards to social media, cell phones documenting humanity's sorry state, cyber bullying, etc. has me disgusted.

Fry'em all. Back to flips.

Cell phones in general have made people impatient as hell. Used to be it was understandable if you couldn't reach someone right away. Now days you can't just turn your phone off without people getting pissy about you not answering or calling them back.

Oh...and I fricking hate texting. I tell people all the time they can text me but don't expect a text back.

Texting is great for short answer questions. I don't have to get involved in a phone call when I'm doing other things.

You realize all cell phones have electromagnetic shielding, right?

Agreed. "Be there in 15 minutes" types of things. Otherwise call me.

If I could flip the switch to disable computers permanently I think I'd do it. This shite isn't good for us and it has changed human interaction for the worse

I literally do the same thing...about calling.

Obviously not work related calls, but friends know that if they call me, I'm not answering, and they'll get a text immediately after asking what they need. Calling generally takes up all your attention, if you will. With texting, I can still get a lot of shite done in between.

Luckily, my friends and family are mostly all the same way, so it works out.

I think the advancements we've made in the world with computers maybe ever so slightly outweigh the fact that you don't have to talk to people you don't want to talk to as much nowadays.

No more than guns make people shoot someone. All behavior has a component of choice, regardless of whether certain things reinforce bad behavior.

frick that. I hate it when I text someone and they immediately call me. Like look mother fricker, if I wanted to hear your goofy voice I wouldn't have texted.

I couldn't live without texting, especially with work. I sit in meetings often that I don't have to be paying all that much attention and I send text to others. It's a good quick way to get updates from others as well.

just this morning a friend and I had texted a few times to plan something for later. That would have been two wasted phone calls. Hell who wants to do that when a simple yes or no and stating a time in a text works just fine

I agree with this, but after about three texts in a row, hit the phone symbol and just call me. Especially if you know I'm driving.
