HB117. It's open to the public. If you attend you can voice your opposition or support by filling out either a red or green ( ) card, respectively.

SB 143 is the real bill that is going to be on the forefront.

quote:

Louisiana’s Senate, with a 22 to 13 vote, has given approval to a proposal that would legalize medical cannabis, including state-licensed dispensaries. If passed into law Senate Bill 143 would allow those with glaucoma, cancer and spastic quadriplegia who receive a recommendation from a physician to possess and use medical cannabis. Unfortunately, the measure would prohibit patients from actually smoking the medicine, though it would allow them to consume the plant through other methods such as vaporizers, oils, tinctures, edibles and topicals. The bill would authorize ten medical cannabis dispensaries throughout the state – regulated by the Department of Pharmacy – which would supply the medicine to qualified patients. The dispensaries would be supplied by a licensed cultivation center. Senate Bill 143 now heads to the state’s House of Representatives, where its passage will send it to Governor Bobby Jindal for consideration.

This is where it will ultimately fail. Jindal is on a conservative crusade. No way he'll sign this.

I hope his next crusade is against atheism. It's a dividing force in our state and hurts the economy

You're probably right, but I would be curious to see what would happen with all the budget cuts this state is facing.

Yeah. These damn dope heads will be running around everywhere if they pass this.

On a serious note I'm sure that clown from Jefferson Parish will show up to testify against it. He isn't fit to be dog catcher much less sheriff

So nobody takes these marijuana threads seriously?

It's a damn shame you guys, this is an important issue and deserves serious debate, not a bunch of childish trolls jibbering nonsense.
