There was a poster on here who was a teen when this happened ... his dad died in one of the towers. I remember him saying it was just easier to pretend his dad was on a business trip that kept getting extended.
I'll NEVER forget that day and what I was doing and where I was.
God bless America.
eta: my youngest was almost 7 months old .. I also remember thinking what a different world it will be for her.

I was at work. Secretary game into office and said, " a plane just hit one of the twin towers".
Thought it was just an accident. We turned on the TV just in time to see the second plane hit
I immediately went to my parents house and watched everything on TV with my dad for the rest of the day.
It's something I will never forget. We sat there in silence watching TV for the next 6-7 hours in complete shock.
A few days/week later we were in Mexico dove hunting when George Bush gave his presidential speech.

Who's the guy that worked in the Bush Administration who tweets every 9-11 in real time?
He would tweet how everything unfolded minute by minute

Every fricking one of em. I was thinking this morning if any muslims living in the US kept a low profile today.

We should have turned the ME to fricking glass. Goddamned gutter religion.

Tom Brokaw just said it on the 9/11 replay. They're talking about bin laden and say they come to America to carryout these attacks cause it's just so easy to come in our country.

I still get mad and upset when watching anything with 9/11 footage, and bless all those who've been affected by this terrible event.

How'd you drive around for two hours if you needed gas?

8th grade, saw the second plane hit live and watched coverage the majority of the rest of the day. Crazy it's been 15 years since then. We will never forget

Just listened to the whole FAA/NORAD tape.
That frickin mayday call from United 93 is a miserable thing to listen to.

I was in first grade on the school bus when I heard a tower had collapsed. I subsequently went to school saying a tower had collapsed to everyone and my teacher pulled me aside and told me to stop.
That day, everything changed for me. I think 9/11 sparked a level of curiousity that I probably wouldn't have gained until years later.
What sticks with me most is sitting next to my dad on the sofa watching the coverage of it after school and him still not being able to wrap his head around it.

8th Grade Physical Science. 2nd Hour.
Damn they weren't kidding when they told us we'd always remember exactly where we were and what we were doing.

I've been watching all morning. I have to turn the station sometimes. I'm older now and realize how scary that day was.
