This is why they don't put high dollar items near the doors anymore. I watched a video of a guy walk into a department store and grab an entire rack of leather jackets and just walk out to a waiting car. Took maybe 15 seconds and he was gone.

Honestly it's a pretty good strategy for the perps. Those purses are $500-$2,000 a pop and are in stores that are staffed by older women.
Plus there is an easy resale value since there is a high demand and people want the real thing at a discount.

Something like that happened in Mobile and it seems the perps took the purses apart and used the material to cover Air Force 1 sneakers. Everybody wanted those Gucci AF1's.

Those stores don't even detain anyone anymore. It's a cost of doing business. An ex of mine was the GM for Old Navy and they weren't allowed to follow them outside the store even if it was clear they were stealing.

I would have stole those purses too. Did you see how the store clerks were staring at only one race in the store? How would you feel if people watched you while you shopped? This group was labelled thieves by the employees right when they walked in the door.
