Eveyone tends to remember the first two men to walk on the moon, but no one gives much credit to the Astonauts that achieved this feat after Neil and Buzz. Pete and Alan were the third and fourth astronauts respectively to walk on the moon.

Only 12 people have done it, and only 8 are still with us.

It's insane to me the idea that we could see a time in the near future with no living humans having ever stepped on a celestial body other than Earth.

Pete Conrad was defiinently the funniest astronaut.

In simulator exercises they named their Lunar Module "Fudd," and the Command Module "Pucker"

Hard to keep from rolling on the floor hearing them call = "Fudd, Pucker here, how do you read me?"

Halcyon days, for sure.

Charlie Duke (Apollo 16) and Jack Schmitt (Apollo 17 - the last man to set foot on the moon, although Cernan argues he is the "last" man to walk on the moon, because he was the last human being to be on the moon's surface) are the babies of the group at 80. Duke was also the youngest man to walk on the moon, 36 1/2 years and all others were at least 37.
