Well, the whole being physically addicted is as much of a disease as anything. Hell, you can die from alcohol withdrawal. With that said, once he sobers up and dries out, he'll understand how much the booze fricked his life up. It's not an excuse though, as he made the decision to pick it up in the first place, but don't be obtuse to the fact that alcoholism is a disease that frequently needs medical intervention for the body to overcome.

BULLfrickINGSHIT!

Been there done that. 'Disease' is the weakest of excuses. Cancer is a disease. Diabetes is a disease. Alcohol is a voluntarily ingested drug to which you can become addicted.

Do you consider meth heads to have a 'disease'?

Yes, I consider addiction to be a disease. It's really not a debate, pretty cut and dry.

So, you consider the voluntary ingestion of a foreign substance to be a disease?

The effects of alcohol and drugs are nothing more than injury to the body through voluntary ingestion of chemicals.

No 'disease' involved.

You're pretty slow, aren't you? The changes the substance makes to the body is the disease. I said I it was voluntary to begin with.

Alcoholism is self inflicted. Its like a disease, but I'll never agree that it is one.

You can stop drinking, you can't just stop having AIDS (without dying).

You're a blithering idiot, aren't you? (see how that insult game works)

Disease is not voluntary. Ingestion of chemicals for fun and pleasure is not a disease.

Yes, one of us is slow.

Would you want to put down a cancer patient that happened to kill someone in an accident?

don't equate cancer with this POS. I hope this fricker gets cancer and dies a long, slow, miserable death. He deserves that and 10X more.

So physical addiction is voluntary? Plenty of voluntary actions lead to disease of the body, alcohol is just one of the countless.

His disease compels him to drink. He still makes a choice to get in the car and drive. What an idiotic statement. Rarely have I seen so many down-votes. I hope you are trolling.
