Locking him up is the only option, and for a 4th dwi with vehicular homicide he's looking at 10-15 (months, this is LA afterall)

You say this and yet Louisiana leads the entire planet in imprisoning people.

Would you want to put down a cancer patient that happened to kill someone in an accident?

That's debatable. Secondly, driving is not part of the "disease." Execution is just.

I suppose all of you support the death penalty for drug dealers as well huh? They sell shitty crack and someone dies.

Maybe. The sentence range is 5-30 for a first time felony offender. If it's a strong case and considering his prior DUIs I'd expect more though.

I typically support legalization of drugs. Or at least decriminalization. But this isn't a legitimate comparison. The drug user made a decision to use the drugs. Mike Holmes was just trying to get to work. He didn't make a decision to get on the road and get hit by a drunk.

Nice try though loser

It's not that IMO, we have just made it easy for dumb, dysfunctional people to survive and thrive. Hell, our own government rewards breeding while on welfare. Prison is not a deterrent for folks that do shite like this. Their minds aren't functioning highly enough to give a frick.

I can only guess you didn't how many more posts he has than you. You really should apologize to Festus. He is much more of a man than you are.

Well, the whole being physically addicted is as much of a disease as anything. Hell, you can die from alcohol withdrawal. With that said, once he sobers up and dries out, he'll understand how much the booze fricked his life up. It's not an excuse though, as he made the decision to pick it up in the first place, but don't be obtuse to the fact that alcoholism is a disease that frequently needs medical intervention for the body to overcome.
