I rode the Marta with my 12 year old to a Falcons game this year. It was just to miss the traffic jam downtown with the new stadium being built.

You can't make this kind of stuff up.

A guy says to another guy on the train "all of our brothers being locked up are holding us back as a people because they're holding all their knowledge inside the walls and not sharing it with the rest of us."

My son looks and me like "did that just happen?"

I was just on it yesterday. Had a guy in the back wobbling around asking for someone to refill his Breeze card, when nobody responded he casually opened the door and went into the next car, at full speed. Wow

MARTA stations probably less so than surrounding areas. Obviously Vine City proper is among the worst areas in Atlanta, though Chickfila and Blank and the City are pouring money into it because of the new stadium.

There are some parts around Holmes that aren't that bad with new construction, but I'm not aware of much westside gentrification that far over. Still close to really rough stretches, though.

So, I clicked on the $Y(Q#@ link and when I FINALLY got through the ad, All I heard was sound-over ads from the same page. Like watching tv in Best Buy with every TV on a different station. The internet has gone to hell.

1 confirmed dead last I saw.

I'm just staying home and working remote 4x a week until the bridge is open. I've gone in two days since the collapse, straight shot up GA400, there have been 4 major accidents I've gotten caught in traffic for in those two days.

In the nearly two years I've worked in Alpharetta, I've seen maybe two accidents as bad as these. The whole city are driving like maniacs. Major accidents all over and then Braves foam tomahawks partially closing interstates to top it all off too.

Parts of it are and people who aren't ghetto don't venture to those areas.

Midtown, Buckhead, most of West Midtown, O4W, Little Five Points are all are the polar opposite of ghetto.

I'll just caveat this to say the mall stretch of Buckhead can be super ghetto. For a while, I heard about more armed robbery around Lenox than anywhere else in the city.

Our residential areas of Buckhead are generally safe, although anytime you live in a major city there are going to be some issues.

It's interesting, because the core of Buckhead is generally surrounded by high end areas, including a lot of expensive residential areas. In other words, there is a buffer. Nonetheless, the malls and glitz of Buckhead draw hoodrats from Clayton, Stone Mountain, West Cobb and beyond.

Meanwhile, West Midtown is on the edge of warzone, and you never see people crossing over into those establishments. Builders have figured out that the rustic, minimalist vibe is not appealing to the pseudo-baller crowd.

Atlanta is the southern mecca for middle and upper class blacks. Unfortunately there are a ton of ghetto blacks too.
