Seems like Baton Rouge is decaying. I have young children and would like to move somewhere they and their children can feel safe and have the most opportunities. Looking to spend 900k to 1.2mil. Would like to stay in the south.

Anybody know where in the south the demographics are such that real estate isn't such a gamble?

If you are serious, Naples, FL. Where all the retired millionaires live. No crime, Stepford life. Beaches, great infrastructure. It's kinda nice to check out at the grocery store, and the woman checking you out is actually nice, then the bag boy asks if he can help you with your bags, to your car.

Out in the country. Seriously it is the most stable market. Not tied to big city corruption, crime, etc.

Franklin is okay but with the pricetag he is talking about he should be looking at Bellevue/bellemeade. Nolensville isn't bad if he's interested in building.

Memphis or Birmingham. Both are great places to raise kids and no crime. You can pretty much pick anywhere and be good to go. People there are nice and always giving great advice like:

"Nobody move, nobody gone get hurt"

I know some friends that have been helped by strangers on several occasions. They even offer to take care of their wallets and personal possessions.
