Do you have an SO?

I can assure you that any self-respecting woman wants a man to make her feel special. It's not out of selfishness - it's because she wants to feel worth from the man she is with. Nothing wrong with wanting to please a man and receive something in return, even if it is just a dinner date once a week or a special celebration for birthdays and anniversaries.

I want to know what conversations between men and women are usually dominated by men. Most of mine involve me talking 10% of the time.

But that'll probably be used against us. Use your "fair airspace" probably means we have to talk more.

Even the dumb bitch who wrote this article clearly can't mean this, and if she did, I guarantee within 6 months she'd be in the arms of another man.

This.

Disclaimer: This is not feminism in my world. This is crazy lady -ism. I hate sexism as much as anyone.

But.. what a retarded article.

I love how woman are always going on and on about how they don't want a pushover. They don't like when men use the term "nice guy", but they will argue and say they like nice guys.. when they don't. How many women have left a man who is totally in love with her because he showed it too much? A TON.
Look at how many guys talk about the friendzone. Well, it's because "I like you, but I don't like you enough to date you".. AKA: You're too nice.

If a man did the shite in this article, he'd be left in a heartbeat for being such a pushover.

I know some men that are all about feminism (not crazy lady -ism) and they're not wimps like this article wants. They're intelligent/strong men who maintain their own respect.

Let's not forget there is a segment of extreme feminism that considers intimacy with a man to be anti-feminist. So the idea that the fringe feminist community cares about male-female relationships is probably a reach.

I don't look at emotional labor from men as a feminist issue.

I see it as more of a respecting one another item. As much effort as I put forth to cook, clean, stay in shape, work, and do other things my SO wants that may not always be what I want, it's nice to have a man do a few things I want.

Radical feminist take it way too far. Most women just want respect, and through that respect comes all other good things.

Then take that up with the guy I replied to. He said he can't take feminism seriously because they don't fight to be included in selective service. I'm pointing out that he's factually incorrect.

Now, on a related note, SWAN was also a leader in the fight open combat roles to women and they succeeded. That's going to lead to women sharing more equally in the burden of war and having more military deaths, etc.

Emotional labor - actually care about special dates and put forth a little effort to make a woman feel special.

That's what I got from it, which really shouldn't be difficult for a man who loves a woman. It should come pretty naturally

I think the whole article is pretty obnoxious. How can you blather on about equality while asking for a handicap in the same breath?

My wife knows better than to try to win an argument of meaningful proportion with me. That's why she talks endlessly about mundane bullshite so that I can Listen, while I take care of the real decisions and let her know how much she owes me for her portion of the expenses.

That's why I argue nonsense online, it's my only venue to voice my displeasure for all that I do not like. If I said it to her, she'd take it poorly.

I don't really care about your argument with someone else. You were calling my statement bullshite, when it's clearly not.

Because that is the essence of modern feminism. Preach equality, equality, equality, while simultaneously pushing for special treatment under the law and under social mores.
