IMO, one of the greatest photographic portraits ever taken.

I assume this is going to turn into a WYHI thread.

She's a lot rougher looking today. No surprise though

She had so much potential though...

Damn she turned into an Ewok

She was hot but I bet her vag tasted like a rusty nail

More like tasting pennies

That picture is amazing. Perhaps even more amazing is that they were able to find her, some random woman in Afghanistan, so many years later for the follow up pic.

Dude, 12 is pushing over the hill over there.

I believe she was still in the same little village.
She around 12 or 14 when the first pic was taken. Late 30's in the 2nd. Life is hard in a mud hut...
I remember reading the article around 1990 when they tracked her down. She was identified by the small burn marks on her scarf in the original pic.

Hell I beat off to her pic about 400 times in the 80s.

I was only 13 myself. No shame.

She was on one of the most recognizable magazines in the world, flashing ethereal eyes. I bet she was probably a quasi-celebrity in her region for a hot minute. She was probably super easy to track down.

She's still a celebrity. Her picture is everywhere in and around her village.

I'm not so sure anyone subscribes to National Geographic in the Panjshir Valley.
