Anyone have one? What are your thoughts? I’m also looking at the 2020 Chev Traverse. If anyone has either and has a review, please let me know how you like it. Thanks!

There are much better choices out there for the same or close to the same price.

I’d get the Explorer over the Traverse

I have an 18 explorer as my company car; and my sister in law just bought a brand new Chevy traverse that is loaded out. My next company car is actually going to be a traverse as my company changed their fleet agreement. Sister in law loves hers, and those at my company who already got the traverses say it’s way better and nicer than explorer.

Motortrend just did a head to head with the Explorer and Pilot. They skewered the Explorer due to quality of materials and QC. At $50k+ the thing is a disaster.

I have a 2012 Explorer XLT and like it a lot. There’s no way I’d consider a new one though.

Not a fan of my Traverse- it's a 2012 though.

Really like our new Pacifica.

I have a family of 6.

The new ones have had major problems. They build them in Chicago, ship them to Michigan to “repair” them.

CNBC has a good special on the failed launch of the new Explorer. It is a huge cluster by Ford.

Outside of the reliability problems....reviewers are also pretty conclusive that few will buy them other than Ford people and rental car companies.

I would wait until next year for the Traverse. It is getting a very nice styling update and a start/stop defeat switch.

I would not touch the 2020 Explorer under any circumstance.

I’m interested as well. I love that they are again rear wheel drive.

Just bought my wife the 2020 XLT Explorer. She is absolutely obsessed with it. I like it as well. Got the bucket seats in the middle. So far no complaints other than you have to push a button everytime you crank it if you want to disable the auto shut off. Not that big of a deal.

Of course the Pacifica is better for you. Your family needs a minivan.

Since the explorer is now RWD I consider it a viable option.
