How'd the interior look? Be honest. Did your radio buttons have any of the paint left at all? How about the steering wheel?
Steering wheel was fine.
Plastic pieces did fade in the rear passenger areas but we are talking about 10 years of service with very minimal use of Armor All
Carpet in rear cargo area was worn out but I abused the shite out of it over the years.
Radio buttons were fine but climate control buttons did wear out
Driver and front passenger seats are some of the most comfortable I have ever owned.

Love those, but 80k for a child wagon is a bit excessive. Kids would destroy it.

We just bought one the day before yesterday. Limited edition. It's a pretty sweet ride. So far we love it.

No. She preferred the symbol in front of the car, not the actual car.
My wife was the same way. She got a Highlander. Not a smaller yet more expensive vehicle simply b/c of it's symbol.
We wife test drove the RDX, and she liked it, I got in to drive and I didn't even drive it. Got in, felt like I was in a clown car b/c it's made for a 5' girl, not a 6' man, said nope.
We were looking for a vehicle mainly for my wife, but also to drive on trips, where I will always be driving. So while it is her car, I still drive it on a weekly basis.

They are good vehicles, but they shrunk it down like Acura did to the MDX. Made no sense.

Easy there bro....
My wife has only ever driven 4 runners. She comes from a full blown Toyota family. We aren't 25 running around trying to keep up with high society. This last one has 236k. The highlander limited is as expensive if not more than even the base MDX. She likes ithe RDX, she likes the safety features she likes the way it drives better as well. Why the frick that means she is buying a symbol? Maybe, just maybe she doesn't give a shite and just likes it.
We drove almost everything... the outback, the forester, highlander, qx 60, MDX, RDX, Rx, grand Cherokee. She doesn't like the GM or ford products b/c of the way they look and we didn't want to wait for the new versions to come out. She also didn't like the Honda b/c it looks like a mini van.
I drive a tundra and I didn't find the RDX to be cramped. It's me, her and a GSP...

I know someone with a 2015 and they are happy

Depending on budget and needs, these would be the three I'd look at.
4Runner Limited: $42k, built solid, will last forever, 1 or 2 kids (bad 3rd row). Bad gas mileage.
GX460: $58k, probably the only Toyota/Lexus more reliable than the 4Runner. The closest we can get to the land cruiser in the US without spending $85k. Built on the Land Cruiser Prado platform. Bad gas mileage. Outdated electronics, looks like a 4Runner Limited on the inside. Ok 3rd row.
Highlander Platinum: $47k. Best technology of the bunch. Most practical and best gas mileage. Just went to a direct injection engine (2GR-FKS) in 2017 which could affect reliability. The engine was introduced on the Tacoma in 2015 and I'd like to see a few more years of data before assuming it's as good as the engines in the 4Runner or GX460.

Just turned 150K on my 11' Highlander. Been a great car and no major issues thus far. Synthetic oil at every 10K and regular scheduled maintenance. 21 mpg in the City and 23-24 mpg on road trips.
Some minor and annoying shite though in the past year. Drivers door window came out of the bracket/track. Power locks stopped working. Tire pressure system needed repair too.
All things considered, we've been well pleased.

Is this the Highlander engine that turns off when you come to a stop? That feature is really annoying and abrupt.

SO has been considering a Highlander. I think she's going to get a RAV 4 or forester since we don't have kids or anything.
What do y'all like about the higher end packages? I didn't really care too much about anything that a limited had compared to an LE plus.

Wife has one and we love it, rides smooth. We have two grandsons ( 8,3 )plenty of room. I put the DVD headrest in for her last month. Just went to Paragon casino from Livingston this past weekend and some of the roads are rough getting there...smooth ride in the highlander. We brought it from Team Toyota (40 k) loaded with bumper to bumper warranty

so it looks like the 17' Highlander is the winner in the opinion thread. Thanks for the help guys.
Wish I was an OT baller and could go get a 17' Denali tho.
