And I want a BJ from Sophia Vergara while Scarlett Johansson and Kerry Washington go to town on each other next to us.

But I don't have the money to make that happen.

You mentioned earlier that Sanders would make it worse, but clearly his goal is to do the opposite. It's more than the other candidates have done to address this issue. I think it speaks more to your ignorance of politics than anything else, tbh.

What are colleges doing with all that money?

Basically building resorts we used to call "dorms" and "student unions."

That's what happens when government backs loans that anyone can get. Colleges can increase prices to whatever the frick they want without repercussions.

I dont see what else there is to add to this thread.

And this is why I have little sympathy when F. King Alexander goes on TV whining about LSU's budget issues.

The issue isn't tuition unless you DEMAND to go out of state or to a private college. The issue is books, which usually cost between 20 and 35% of tuition. He has made zero mention of textbook prices, so your point has no merit

Textbook prices are crazy and they come out with a new edition every year.

True Story. My father graduated from McNeese in EE in 1977. His Physics text book and my Physics text book were identical except mine had an extra author and a shiny cover. Even the figures and problems were the same.

Sorry. I probably did. I was wondering his reasoning for thinking Sanders would make the problem worse. At worst I think nothing changes. I know college was expensive for me, and I hate to think what it will be like for my kids. The system is clearly unsustainable. I paid 6x what my dad paid, accounting for inflation.

You honestly think that textbooks are the problem, and not the tuition? Tuition is far more expensive. Even if textbooks aren't free, having free tuition will make a massive difference. People might actually be able to "pay their way" through college again, as my parents did.

And lazy rivers

How about we skip the lazy river and just make my tuition cheaper? hmm?

Schools will continue to remove teaching positions and replacing them with TAs and administrative positions.

They are short on funds, so they fire a teacher. Then, they have funds, so they hire an administrator

Tuition is tuition. I don't have a problem paying in-state tuition. People bitch and moan because out-of-state tuition is $40k+/yr, when they could go to a CC and two years of university for like $20k. That's their fault

I don't totally disagree....but the fact that state universities can basically charge whatever the hell they want, because people "have to" or can figure out a way to pay it....it hurts...

Tuition alone at most universities in Alabama is 5K per semester. 40K for tuition alone, and there is no TOPS program to help defray that cost.

You should exit the thread. Louisiana alone has increased IN-STATE tuition by 52% in the past five years (adjusted for inflation).
