When I'm at most Waffle Houses I always feel uncomfortable and like I need to keep my head on a swivel. Last time I was in one it was in St. Rose mid day for lunch on a weekday. I would have thought it would be a fine time and location. Nope.

The waitress and a patron get into an all out verbal fight. The customer returned to her car to wait for her food to be made.

1) I was waiting for the customer to come back in and shoot the waitress.

2) If I was the customer no way would I have still eaten that food.

I don't know how people feel comfortable working in these places especially at that time of the morning.

Saw probably 10 cop cars or so there on my way to work this morning. I figured a shooting or something happened.

BR has to be one of the dumbest cities in the US. It lets ghetto into any nice part of the town. It’s just a jigg saw of what should be decent and then ghetto.

BR is using the highly successful Nola diversification model.

All of those apartments that were allowed to be built in the 80s and 90s all over South BR are trash now.

Siegen is different.

It’s ground zero for the regional opioid epidemic. Homelessness and trash always centered around that sketchy hotel that needs to be demolished and the suboxone clinic off Reiger Road. And for years the city of Baton Rouge would pay for hotel rooms at that sketchy hotel to put the homeless people they found downtown. It’s the go to spot now that LWCC bought an demolished the hotels next to their office tower on Acadian.

That plus the typical Waffle House issues = major issues.

Which is sad because Waffle House is an American treasure.

I'm sure those apartments behind Academy are a large source of crime around there too. I remember when they built those. They were "rent controlled" in the 90s IIRC. Probably full Section 8 now.

The Motel 6 behind that Waffle House needs to be leveled. So does the two shitty little motels next to it.

When you let apartments into an area it’s asking for it to be shite in 5 or so years.
