Isn't that correct? Don't they blow the whistle when he jumps?

I think they only blow it if he's coming unguarded to the QB.

Well shite, just send your DE early on obvious passing downs because their tackle will have to hold to stop you and it's either a sack or offsetting penalties. It's a win-win.

If an interior lineman jumps, doesn't make contact, and tries to get back, they won't blow the whistle.

If a DE is coming for the QB and he gets an early jump like what happened there, they often blow the whistle.

Offsetting penalties is bullshite right there.
