Was about to say, I'd still think about it. In the it'd be nice to have a settled QB starter for another 7-10 years, then possibly. But if you're thinking strictly immediate success then no. Cam is great, but he has the benefit of a fantastic o-line, running game, and defense. If it all had to be him I don't know that he could do it on a regular basis.
Then again he just threw 5 TD's on us (which isn't a unique accomplishment) so who knows.

I mean I'd probably make the trade at this point, being a year later and seeing his new deal.

Still, he still isn't on the same planet as Brees. He's improving, but he has yet to carry a team

But all things being equal, I'll take 4 more years of an aging Brees over 4 years of Cam.

I mean we just put up 31 points on offense against the #1 D despite all our flaws, sacks, and missed FG. Our defense is giving up 35/game over the last 8 games

Your rankings are valid since you had Brees as below average last year

I'd trade Brees for their defense. That's about it.

He used the Panthers game to say Oh Brees is still this and that. OK I'll take away the Giants fluke and the offense isn't even averaging 20 PPG this year.

That's how averages work? The Giants game was a fluke but the Texans game wasn't?

And we're averaging 22.5 outside the Giants game. Derp.

Avg of panthers + Texans is sub 20. Par for the course for the season when you toss out the Giants fluke.

-52 giants fluke

247
-7 Pont return
-7 fumble return

233 / 12 games = 19.42

12 games is correct, you can twist it if you'd like. Don't really concern me much.

Carolina should be jumping over all it considering that even before the trade they have to satisfy an aging QB with demands that will his have cap number in the $20 million range.

Cam Newton is not a good QB. He will never deliver a championship to anyone. He is nothing but a selfish, classless, terrible human being.

They are undefeated and well on their way to the super bowl. Yea, give me Cam over Brees any day.
