Blues, I thought you may be due for some chest pounding

One player who has been projected by many to crack the top 10 in the 2014 NFL Draft is Alabama inside linebacker C.J. Mosley. The leader of the Crimson Tide defense, Mosley was an integral member of Alabama's defense during their National Championship teams in 2011 and 2012. With three seasons of good tape, Mosley is the top-rated inside linebacker prospect and looks solid as a first-round pick. However, after consulting with sources around the NFL, they feel that Mosley was overhyped during his senior season and should be a mid to late first-round pick.

my deduction wasn't from any particular insight to Mosley. More simply it is the value and draft history of linebackers (excluding 3-4 rush OLBs). Mosley is the #2 or 3 LB on most boards so far. It's more common than not that 2 or less LBs are picked before #27. Mosley is good, just don't see him at Kuechly-Willis immediate high impact value.
Check the history of LB drafting HERE
After RBs, LBs might be the next most overall devalued position in the NFL today. Look at the # of solid LBs taken later (draft pick #)-
Ogletree 30
Alonso 46
Jamie Collins 52
Bobby Wagner 47
Lavonte David 58
KJ Wright 99
Daryl Washington 47
Sean Lee 55
Navarro Bowman 91

we have an old 'complete' TE in watson and the issue we ran into this year was that our wide receivers are getting old and abused.

Goes to show you good scouting can net you a very good starter at the ILB position.
My issue is with the new breed of former basketball receiving TE in the league, the need for fast, smart, and strong ILB is a necessity or you're going to get abused way too often.

OR a Kenny Vaccaro at safety OR some of the new breed 6'+ & muscled CBs.
Will be interesting to see how these big CBs do in the Combine. Jean-Baptiste is gonna be valued at whatever his high end is just for being 6-2 214. Look at this high point grab-

the 'triangle' system with 3 safeties that seattle runs is pretty legit. each one is really fast, big, and smart so I agree it could be replaced with a safety like vaccaro. The issue is, what's easier to find
a safety like vaccaro/chancellor
or
a linebacker like kuechly/wright

Hence the reasoning I brought up the idea of drafting a dynamic TE to go along with JG and our current crop of WR's. Just seems like the perfect poison to go with the cup of tea.
Seattles DB's are big, fast, and physical from the line of scrimage onto the back end. What better way to combat that with bigger and more physical players.
This year showed us that our D can go toe to toe with anyone in the league, but in the process the O has become somewhat stagnant or slow. I don't think they are slow, just not able to hold up against some of the more physical D's out there. That is why I think a big physical TE to team up with JG would work wonders for the rest of the O. It would open things up where most could thrive.
Just my 2 thoughts. Peace out my fellow Who Dats. Time for bed on this side of the planet.

Imagine this guy on the field with Graham.
imagine watson on the field with graham and our OLine actually blocking so we can run sets like that.

I think we need an OL in the first round.
