"It varies from week to week." --Sean Payton in response to reporter's question yesterday.

Discuss.

Basically, we'll go back to pass heavy against Carolina when their rushing defense is one of their weaker spots...Harper will bite so hard on playactions

More like best game of the season on the ground which opened up the passing game and showed us the path to success. But in Payton's mind, the passing game has come online. Prepare for Brees to throw it 45+ times on the road in a short week and forget the running game doesn't exist.

Ding ding.

I know the Panthers have a weakness in the secondary. We all know what I'm talking about. So if the Saints decide to air it out over the top, I'll at least understand.

HOWEVER, RUN THE GODDAMN FOOTBALL

I just kept watching Graham on that gif, and it took me a second to notice Ingram and Sproles bundling up.

If Ingram doesn't get 20+ touches again Thursday, I will seriously start to wonder about CSP's sanity.

If the Saints end up getting in an early hole, expect 8 WR's and shotgun formation for the rest of the game.

As much as i want ingram to get 20 carries, it is a short week. If either pierre or khiry can go, they should get about 1/4 of the carries, just due to the short week

After this week i want ingram to be a feature back

it could mean he just doesn't want to say anything to discourage other talented players who can and will contribute and if ingram goes down, must contribute; however I interpreted it as

"My retardation varies from week to week"

I would agree with this if he's not getting it done over the course of 25 carries a game, but payton will pull him the moment he goes for 3 yards or less UNLESS, he's been racking it up before that particular run

A very good point, but I’d still feed him the ball until he shows definitive signs of wearing down.

I’d rather ride a healthy but a bit tired Ingram than force a split in carries between him and a still less than ready Khiry or even PT (though I think we see PT if at all possible; need his sure and steady presence in a big road game like this).

Mark and the rest of the team get 10 days to rest after this one. Let him eat!
