but staying out and up all night the day before a game is a pretty good reason for the Saints to move on.

I don't know about this, I have a feeling that a majority of young pro athletes do this.

One of the main reasons I try my best to stay off this board on game days and a few after. It was getting ridiculous last season

What I have heard was a little bit of a combination of these two. I heard it as a rumor and haven't accepted it as gospel, but I HAVE accepted it as possible truth. And Jimmy Graham was somewhat involved in the same rumor.

Really? You think players/professionals pull all nighters the night before kickoff at noon? I am sure it has happened before, but I would say this behavior is not accepted by any organization trying to win on Sunday.

Stills never had the passion to be a great NFL player. He kinda went through the motions in the off-season and was a bit childish in the way he handled himself in the locker room. Saints definitely pulled the trigger to get the most value they could out of him especially when Jeff Ireland knows the Miami roster better than anyone.

He had clashes, and was believed to be a bad influence. I do not know if he was considered a locker room problem, but he rubbed people the wrong way.

Conspiracy Theory 3: He was outperforming his contract and we would likely be in a position to have to renegotiate next year and wouldn't have the cap space and wouldn't have the bargaining power in a trade we had this year.

This is absolutely true and he was vocal about wanting to get paid.

I have a friend who works for the team and it was all pretty much locker room stuff from what he gathered. He showed up hung over or late and hung over to team meetings, half arse workouts, not much for the diva attitude but he apparently had a few conversations about wanting the ball more during games.

Joe Horn gets pegged with the whole Willie Roaf's wife thing, but it was actually Joe Johnson. That is a sordid story, and let's just say the woman involved was no saint.

It's a what have you done for me lately league, but I think his poor performance in Miami greatly overshadows the fact that he was playing in a scheme and spot he had never done before.

I think his floor is a very solid contributor, with a better than average chance to be a full time starter in 3-4 packages.

As a floor, he was better than anything we fielded last year.

I think it was a combination of things. For one, the value we got for Stills was pretty big. A good, albeit hurt defender in Ellerbe at a position of need while also getting a 3rd rounder made it too sweet a deal to pass up.

The other part is the belief in Coleman and Jones and possibly Toon being ready to make serious contributions in our offense from now on, otherwise they wouldn't have dealt Stills
