We could draft Lawrence Taylor in his prime and this site would find flaws.

is he better than lee + a 3rd rounder (as just an example)? it's not like lee wasn't a badass and doesn't have elite abilities

i'm just pointing out that your argument is illogical and ignores the big picture

You're acting like that 3rd rounder will be a HOFer

The Saints prefered Cooks over Lee and made the move to get him. Why take a chance of both Lee/Cooks(who PHI/GB) wanted not being there?

That's how they feel about it and acting like we're fricked because we gave up a 3rd is absurd.

RB was a huge need for the Wells and Ingram picks, same with Ellis. WR wasn't some giant hole we needed to fill. That is why it was either cooks or dennard.

Not absurd. Unnecessary.

And talk about the return game doesn't really matter to me as much now as the NFL is doing everything they can to eliminate the return game as we know it.

I think the major issue is that there are still key holes the Saints need to fill and they are putting a lot of faith into some unheralded youngsters.

What key holes? Center?

, but it does in depth, and that is the issue.

If the holes are in depth, then they aren't "key holes". That is what the late rounds and free agency can fix

but trusting Payton on high round WRs isn't a great history.

Meacham is the only 1st rounder he's taken, and

so based on 1 player?

agreed

i think a big reason why it was such an issue was for trading so many picks away
