Being a "new" Saints fan is fine, and of course you can jump off and on the bandwagon as often as you choose. However, the ones who seem to be the most vocal in complaining when the Saints are losing, are the ones who come back as a "Saints fan" only when they are doing well.

I've been a Who Dat since I was old enough to wear Saints gear. Been through Bum, been through Ditka etc, etc. Love 'em whether they are 11-0 or 0-11. They are OUR team and noone can take that from us. As far as the bandwagon, hey, let 'em jump on. If they jump off the true WHO DATS will still be here. I say the more the merrier!

I totally agree.
I told my buddy the other night the same thing. I've been a Saints fan my whole life, but it doesn't bother me if someone jumps on the wagon at all.
He's from Atlanta and a Falcons fan. After being at the game with me Monday night, he told me and anyone else who would listen that he is now a Saints fan, the Superdome is far superior to the GA dome in terms of atmosphere, and that Saints fans are the best sports fans in the world. I told him "Welcome aboard".

right. you're absolutely right. we are jealous of those people who had nothing to do with this team until it started winning. now they claim they are true fans. yeah. gotya. that must mean it's jealousy when JP Police do all the hard work to bring down criminals, and then Segal comes in with his camera taking all the glory for their work. Yeah. Jealousy and pretentiousness.
Take your poser arse back to your losing Tigers and stop acting like it's respectable to become a "fan" of whichever team is winning for you.
The only acceptable "new" fans are children.

For as long as I can remember, I have been a Saints fan.
There just usually isn't much reason to broadcast that fact. Like most other Saints fans, you usually had to pick another team to pull for in January. Saints have always had fans. . .it's just that the fans finally have something to puff their chest out about.
We have had hot starts before, but you always knew they were going to choke. This year, we are clearly the best.
And when Louisianians have a team that's "the best", we can be the most obnoxiously awesome fans in the world.

One thing a lot of you don't realize is that someone not liking "your" team as much as you do doesn't make them a bad person worthy of derision and public humiliation. I got attacked on the MSB the other day because I said that I wasn't following LSU as closely this season. Well excuse me for being a Saints fan first meaning the Tigers lose my interest and limited time if they don't earn it.
I have no problem with stigmatizing ignorance and chicken littles, but some of you need to stop pretending that only "true" fans are worthy of appreciating a team.
