What if a player/coach woulda come off sideline and tackled runner during 2pt?

Honest question, how would that be handled if someone came off the sideline to tackle or trip the guy returning block kick? I know it would be ultimate bush league.
Obviously we would be penalized and that player or coach fined horrendously and hated.
However, it would have saved the game.

They would be given the 2 points.

Idk why I got downvoted. Thought this was pretty common knowledge.

Touchdown Awarded (Palpably Unfair Act)
When Referee determines a palpably unfair act deprived a team of a touchdown. (Example: Player comes off bench and tackles runner apparently en route to touchdown.)

I would laugh my arse off. Other than that, I'm not sure what would happen.

Same thing that would have happened if the returner stepped out of bounds

I was wondering the same thing... never had heard of the palpably unfair rule mentioned above.

Cheating, as you are suggesting, wouldn't have even helped us win because they would be given the 2pt conversion.
My suggestion - we should have beaten them in the 59 minutes prior to THE play.

It's actually happened in college.
Alabama's Tommy Lewis came off the bench to tackle Rice's Dicky Maegle in the 1954 Cotton Bowl. The refs awarded Maegle a touchdown.

Oh, you mean like the Broncos actually did do on that extra point attempt?

At least we'd gotten a hell of a laugh.

To honor your work, I challenge the board to use the word "palpably" in conversation today. Come back to report your success.
