Jimmy needs to sign before he screws himself into a 1 year tender and gets tagged again next year. FIFY

He could hold out if he wanted too if he's placed under tag.. You can't lose a guy like jimmy when you already have him...

He's going to waste $7 million when we can tag him again next year?

He'd be financially retarded to pass up playing this year.

I agree with a new deal offer. Ask him who he wants to be traded to.

Jimmy said before this all started that he only wanted to play with Brees. The Saints made him a multi-year deal to make him the highest paid TE in NFL history.

The Saints don't need to do anything. Jimmy can either except the offer, appeal, or play under the tag. Those are the 3 options. I know one option has more guaranteed money that'll insured he'll get paid into future years even if he suffered a devastating injury this year. He's rolling the dice with the other two options.

Yep, he played the only card he had, which was appeal. Didn't work, I'm willing to bet that it comes down to the last hour, so you better get used to this feeling. #pantiesinatwist #paranoidschizo #whineylilbitch

I may get roasted for this opinion, but I'm sorta down for using JG as a 1 year rental and then trading him if an impressive offer comes in.

If the right offer comes, sure. But that still only gives us leverage for him to sign now.

NO they don't. This team DOES have to operate with a cap. I am fine with JG becoming the highest paid TE, because that's what he is a TE.

He is a great TE and I love the guy, BUT I would not even put him in the same category as Tony Gonzales in his prime yet. TG was a better blocker, and was more effective against defenses that were physical with him.

Should he be the highest paid TE......yes, and the contract the FO has offered makes that so. 9.5 mil is more than fair.

Right or wrong the most important position in an organization is the QB......it can make or break you. JG is not Drew, if he doesn't want to get in line with what the FO wants (which is more than fair to him) than trade him.
