-Pass rushing DE opposite Cam.
-ILB who can play run and pass
-Not one but 2 Guards who can start right now

I don't care if we draft them or get them via free agency but I'm sick of saying this every year.

So why 2 guards? Where does Peat move? He was forced to play both LT and LG yet graded positively overall.

Peat has been very good at LG. As long as we keep Armstead (we should), we should keep Peat at LG.

With Unger at C, those 3 positions are locked down for at least a few years.

RG is an immediate hole. We have no one. If we don't pick someone up, it will be Kelemete, Lelito or Turner... I prefer Kelemete stays the primary backup for the left side and Lelito stays the primary backup for C and RG. So we just need to get an RG immediately. Probably should just do it in FA, though quality OL players will be at a premium in FA this year since OL play around the league was So bad in 2016.

RT is a need, but I think strief will make it at least one more year. Could be a good thing to get a potential future guy in like the 4th, or even 3rd depending what else we do in FA.

exactly.... as i said the fricking day he was drafted (you can go back in my post history if you really want proof), he will end up being a G, and i even went out on a limb and said he'd be an all-pro at the position, in time... well, he may not be an all-pro, but he's turning into a very solid addition at LG... like someone else said, Armstead, Peat, and Unger are solid, but the right side HAS TO be addressed in a major way this offseason...

We need 1 guard and some depth.

Armstead, peat, unger are a hell of a trio on the left side

I honestly even like Kelemete as the left side backup. The OL wasn't quite as good when Armstead was out and Peat was at LT/Kelemete was at LG, but it certainly wasn't terrible by any means. He also looked solid at LT in 2015 when we had to do it. I think we have backups for the left side + C (and maybe even RG, assuming theres is a capable starter, I am OK with Lelito as the backup) covered pretty well.

Get a starting corner, proven pass rusher, and veteran guard in free agency. Draft Cam Robinson to play RG and eventually RT, Jarrad Davis in the 2nd, Duke Riley in the 3rd. Championship.

I felt the line played the best when Peat was at LT and Kelemete at LG.

Not sure if that's just because Armstead was too banged up or if Peat is just that much better at tackle than guard (and Kelemete far outplayed him at LG).

But NO ONE we had could play RG worth a shite and we had to bring Evans back from the dead to do it. The man can't last that much longer with how banged up his body is (one more year tops I think).

So we NEED to get a RG somehow. That is a drop dead need. LG is good between Peat, Kelemete, and Turner.

RT will also need to be addressed soon, but Strief still has 2 more good years in him if need be.

JPP
All in for this move. Him and Cam off the edge with that interior shaping up would be NICE! Would also allow us to go elsewhere with that #11 pick. Maybe DB, LB, etc. If we go after 1 FA this year, I hope it's JPP. Get someone who's proven and still has years left to perform at a high level. Much rather someone like him over an AJ Bouye type player.

Also agree with everyone about Peat at LG. Sky is the limit for Peat if we keep him there. Still only 23 years old, and the strides he made this year once he settled in were huge.

What are the chances that Payton and Loomis grab a position we don't need? like RB or WR?

I think very likely if Fournette, Cooks and Corey Smith are the highest rated players on the board when Saints pick at 11. If Rueben Foster and the top pass rushers are gone then I can see them picking one of the guys.

We could certainly use a 3rd down back or another deep threat in the later rounds

What's the deal with Stephone Anthony? Is he really dumb as a brick and can't read plays?
