Jonathan Vilma is bracing for a suspension between two to eight games, according to sources who have been in contact with the New Orleans Saints linebacker.

Vilma, his representatives and the NFL Players Association are unsure of exactly what discipline will be handed down at this point, but with Vilma the only player named in information released to the public, the player expects the discipline to be at least a few games, sources said.

2-8 games? That's it?

This is somewhat surprising, it's less than I expect.

I was anticipating a full season ban for VIlma.

I have mixed feelings on this, I like that it may be shorter than thought, but does this now screw us cap wise because people were thinking he'd be a whole year?

This doesn't bode well for Vilma. Everyone expected Payton's suspension to be 6-8 games not an entire season. I guess we will have to wait and see how far up his @$$ Goodell's panties are twisted.

Sounds like a typical Vilma season.

Very surprising. How Spags handles the linebacker rotation/depth chart with Vilma in the mix will be very interesting.

that's a huge range...I guess the larger the range, the more likely the actual suspension falls somewhere in there, thus making you look like you know what you're talking about.

Looks like Goodell can't issue his year long suspensions on the players since he is not the judge and jury. Makes you wonder what type of suspensions Payton and company would have acutally received had there been some type of checks and balances system in place.

I've been saying from the start that I don't believe the player suspensions would be that bad. These players needed to perform in GW's eyes in order to stay on the field. Their livelihood depended on them remaining in good favor with their coaching staff (at least that is what the NFLPA will argue).

Vilma is a bit different bc he went above and beyond what the coaches were instructing and allegedly put his own bounties on players.

why 2-8 thats odd normally when something like that comes out its 6-8 or 8-10, but they name 2-8 thats too big of a gap how do you prepare before hand not knowing which it will be. Im gonna say he gets 6 games

I am not going to believe any of this "expected" shite on the Saints board. All of it has been bullshite.

I wish that piece of shite would just release the player suspensions already. The draft is in like 2 weeks, and we need to see how much cap room we have for obvious reasons. Also, i keep bracing for the FUUUUUUUU that this board will become for a couple days after the suspensions. I kinda want to get that over with as well. I'm gonna guess somewhere between 1-16 games for Vilma and let Goodell prove me right. That way I seem like i know what I'm talking about too.

Correct and they just received a dishonerable discharge instead of prison for murder.
