The Raiders did.
Interesting comparison
2014: $3 million + $3 million roster bonus (Saints saved $4.25 million this year)
2015: $5.35 million (Saints save $7.75 million next year)
2016: $5.85 million (Saints save $7 million)
He can potentially earn up to $18 million. Only $10 million guaranteed. Saints save a total of $19 million, worth more than his entire contract if he sees every penny of it
Saints contract
2014: $9.25 million
2015: $7.75 million
2016: $7 million

So no, the Raiders did not think he was worth what his contract was with us.
So in that case they rolled the dice that he would be interested in signing with them. There may be another team that rolled the dice and didn't get him. You never hear about those teams.
And you are STILL ignoring the fact that the Graham trade lost us cap room.

That was the best part. It was a move to rush us under the cap this year, but it cost us $2.5 million in 2015 cap space

It's laughable. He didn't think out any part of his argument.

"Do the Pats when the superbowl without Gronk?"
Can't answer that but I do know this
You can take Gronk off the Pats and give Brady anyone of the top 20 TEs in the league and they have a better shot of winning the Super Bowl than if you take Brady off the team and add Jimmy Graham and Julius Thomas for 3 TE sets. That team without Gronk still has a great shot of winning the bowl that team without Brady has no shot of winning the superbowl.
And without a good Oline it doesn't matter what you have.
You take Tyron Smith off the Cowboys and switch him for Jimmy Graham and they don't win as many games ad they did this season

Great post and smart on.
Payton saw what it takes when the Cowboys beat our arse last year. In order to beat the teams with great defenses. We gotta have a great offensive line and run the ball.
The days of throwing it 50 times a game are over. You can get away with it a little bit in the regular season, but you do that shite in the playoffs and your arse is toast. Especially if you have to face the Rams or Seahawks D

Drew may now have a cleaner pocket but he no longer has a matchup nightmare he can rely on.
Yet he managed to break an NFL record a few years ago with Colston, Henderson, Meachem, Moore, and a second year Graham coming off a rookie season with 356 receiving yards.
Outside of Jimmy, would any of those guys been a #1 receiver for another team? How many would've been a #2 for another team? #3?
Drew w/ time and a good pocket can make a lot of guys look like pro bowlers.
