Mount a satellite on the roof. Damn paddy, that is the most depressing picture ever. A grown man in his boxers watching a saints game on his computer with no one else who cares

The installer said even if he mounted it on a pole on the roof, I still wouldn't get consistent reception because of the tree cover.

Anyway, I hate watching the games with people. I'm a nervous wreck on most game days.

Well thank you for instantly making me feel better about my future saints experiences. At least I won't be watching on a computer

My thing is, not having friends who are interested. I do like watching saints games alone, but I also like it as a social experience It's nice to have options and not a routine I can watch it here, there, I can go In Austin my living room is pretty much my only option

Austin has a pretty big Saints following. Go downtown to Shoal Creek Saloon - the place even has a large Saints helmet sitting on top of it. It's all black & gold on Sundays with solid New Orleans food & Abita beer.

You have to get there early though 'cause it gets packed.
Edit: if you show up right at game time, it'll prob be standing room only.

Here in Houston, I'm lucky enough to live about a mile away from a Saints/LSU bar so I usually hit that up on game days. There's about 3 Louisiana themed bars I know of in Houston, and there are probably more.

This thread makes me wonder if there are Saints bars in major US cities. I know there's a Saints bar in NYC my cousin goes to, but are there Saints places in L.A., Chicago, etc.?

Lived in DC during the 2011 season. Went to 18th Amendment on capital hill for just about every game. Full of saints fan and a fun place.

When I lived in Tampa, we had a solid group of guys that would go to BWW and watch the games. It was still a good time. Now I'm in Yorktown, VA and I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I can't get DirecTV here because of tree cover so I have to try and find a bar with a Saints following.

I've had quite a few different experiences following the Saints:

South Carolina - Sunday Ticket was the only was to go, it was painful seeing the Panthers every week and their sports bars sucked.

Chicago - There's an awesome Saints bar in Chicago I went to each week. I'm talking dancing on tables, muted TV with local PBP, Stand Up And Get Crunk blared at any TD, jambalaya cooked out back. Watched the Minnesota playoff win there and I swear I thought that place was gonna burn down, it was awesome.

Houston - Check to see if on locally, lots of times it was, if not just go to Woodrow's to watch with other Saints fans.

Australia - Streaming on a fvcking laptop at midnight Sunday

I was trying to say something like "It's bad when my buddy with Aspy's feels bad about my lack of social interaction on gamedays," but I couldn't think of a way to say it without sounding like an a-hole. So...sorry.

It's ok, if you ever watch curb your enthusiasm, you'll have a play by play of my life minus the fame, money and Jews (now that I'm done with Tulane)

Quick thread hijack:

Like I said, the food is pretty good too. It's obviously not going to be as good as most southern Louisiana restaurants, but it's a decent fill in whenever you get that craving. You can get boiled crawfish there too during crawfish season.

Another solid Cajun/creole restaurant in the area is Evangeline Cafe. I forget the name of the actual street it's on, but it's not too far off of South Congress. They'll have Cajun & zydeco bands playing for the restaurant.

And I see that Green T next to your name but, if you happen to follow LSU football as well, Lavaca Bar is the place to be on Saturdays. If you're anti LSU, then ignore this paragraph. Haha

Thread hijack over and welcome to Austin
