innocent until proven guilty, right? Positive- he has since kept his nose clean.

Not per the NFL standards (and for good reason). The league does not always follow the court's decision; especially in these matters. I.e., Greg Hardy being suspended 10 games (even though rules in place at time of incident was 2 games) and the case was dismissed. Too many loopholes for these guys to avoid trouble once charges are set.

Considering the circumstances in the media (applies to Winston as well), I wonder if the league will still punish some of these guys; especially if they were not punished in college (or league deems the punishment not severe enough).

I don't consider Gregory's pot smoking to be on the same level as the other two, even though it was flat-out stupid since he should have known he'd be tested at the combine.

Gregory has more red flags than just surrounding his marijuana usage. There are issues concerning laziness, work ethic & quitting on his team.

Questions about Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory's failed drug test at the NFL Scouting Combine have been enough to muddle his draft projections. Now, an NFL scout has added something else to the list of concerns about Gregory: his effort level in the Cornhuskers' final game of the season.

In discussing the effort of prospects in bowl games, a scout told jsonline.com that, unlike Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon, Gregory didn't play as hard as he should have in Nebraska's 45-42 loss to Southern Cal in the Holiday Bowl.

"I like him," the scout said of Gordon and his 251-yard performance in a 34-31 win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl. "Guys like Randy Gregory shut it down in bowl games. Gordon played one of his better games the last game of the year (against Auburn). I think he likes the game."

Randy Gregory definitely passes the so called “eye test” athletically, which he demonstrated both on the field at Nebraska, and at the 2015 NFL Combine. However, the concerns about his play as an EDGE rusher give me deep concerns. It seems as if he relied on his athleticism to beat the offensive tackle off the edge every single time. Just being uber athletic does nothing for you in the NFL. You must have some technique and work ethic to go along with the athleticism to achieve greatness.

I forgot about the work ethic issues with Gregory. Plus issues regarding his size. I'm not so sure i like him with the first pick unless we trade back and land him.

Maybe, but I don't think he slips past the early 20's at the latest.
