With the constant comparisons with Lattimore and White, lets take a look through 3 games with other players we selected. Just to move anthem things down and back to football.

We made out pretty well, some guys of course were obviously better (Hunt > Kamara), but I think we made out decently well 3 games in.

OT
Bolles: 67.8 PFF
Ramcyzk: 75.0 PFF
Robinson: 41.4 PFF

Free Safety:
Hooker: 82.7 PFF (9 tackles, 2 INTs, 2 PD)
Maye: 70.7 PFF (14 tackles)
Williams: 79.4 PFF (12 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PD)

Linebacker:
Riley: 63.7 PFF
Anzalone: 63.8 PFF
Beckwith: 88.7 PFF

Defensive End:
Bashem: 70.5 PFF
Hendrickson: 72.8 PFF
Lawson: 84.2 PFF

I really wish we would have grabbed Beckwith or Lawson. Lawson on the other side of Jordan would be sweet.

I saw Anzalone’s score from PFF and was surprised. The kid seems to always be around the ball and affecting the play. His tackling has been pretty good too. Not sure why the grade is so bad.

It's not really a bad grade that anzalone has.
I think it means he's a bit below average of all playing linebackers.

Coverage, which has been hit and miss.

I don't blame him so much for the Gronk td (though he did commit a no no and peek in the backfield at a horrible time), but there have been other blown coverages (mostly in Allen's shite zones).

I don't see him getting proper depth on many drops and that's part of why there are some gapping holes in those zones. Another reason Allen should stick to mostly man.

Do we have the talent to run man a lot? I believe Lattimore can handle it, but who else?

Anzalone has been solid. Poor guy just had to match up with Gronk a few times in his second game. There should be some type of rating allowance for games vs gronk as a rookie.

He has all the tools to be very good. He just needs more experience, which he is getting.

Williams may be slightly behind Hooker but I think that the sky is the limit for him.

I agree. That interception that Williams made was a thing of beauty.

PJ, Moore, and Crawley are all man corners. Vaccaro is a man/box safety. Anzalone and Robertson are man LBs.

Right now the only truly good zone players we have are Williams (not PJ) and Klein, and you can play Williams in deep zone behind man.

We played man most of the Panther's game. The one td we gave up came on a drive in which we went all zone (I recommend anyone curious to go watch that drive and see why I get pissed at Allen so much).

Zone should be used as a mix up, not our base, and we should throw in some zone blitz now and then. Other than that, we should be playing mostly man.

he was considered a top 5, even top 10 pick. Indy were lucky he fell that far.

In comparison: Jamal Adams
84.5 PFF Rating
11 tackles, 2 PD, 2 STF

Seems like a really deep draft across the board to start the year.

I remember constantly saying in the draft thread I wanted us to take Lawson. But nope. We passed on him a couple of times

We're somewhat OK at LB but really could've used a guy like Lawson considering Cam is our only consistent pass rusher.

Anzalone got owned quite embarrassingly by Gronk twice for touchdowns and then run over by Stewart the next week. But its Gronk and the kid is a rookie and hey, Williams was just as embarrased with that attempt of a tackle on Gronk. Once Anzalone hits the gym and gets stronger (without losing his speed), he could make a real impact.
