I'd rather have Bobby Rainey. He is younger (27 years old)

Vereen is 25 right now. And is very used to lining up out wide in the Sproles role, more so than Rainey. Rainey is good as well tho, I think it's all about who is cheapest

I love me some Vereen. Would be deadly in our offense.

Interesting thought and I could see CSP using him like Thomas. But like you said, he's turning 31. He'd have to sign for substantially cheaper that Thomas and I wouldn't want him for more than a year. He'd be a good stop gap for the right price.

I like him too, but he's too old. We need some young blood in the backfield.

Look at Seattle, by not running Lynch I think PC was sending him a message (dumb one at that, cost them the SB!). I guarantee Lynch wants out. Him and Robinson would be all we need in the backfield. Flame away.

Antone Smith > Vereen > Rainey

Sending him the message that they already offered him 10 million a year for 3 years?

Earlier in the season there was a problem in the locker room. They got rid of the WR, but there could still be more.

But, you make a good point. Also, he's such a flake I would be wary of his hijinks while playing for the Saints.

Where is everyone getting the myth that Vereen is old?

I like Shane. However we can address this need late in the draft. I'll take a 23 y/o Cobb from Minnesota in the 4th round over him. So pass on free agent RBs

Find a 3th/4th round draft pick who can contribute in the passing game. Find one who can do what Ingram can't...block for Brees, get off the line of scrimmage, get open, catch the ball, and gain yards after the catch.

DON'T overpay for a free agent RB. It's not worth it. Also, DON'T be fooled by a guy who had a few decent games in a contract year. It's not worth it.

Oh look who it is. Few games dating back to 2013 when he was a feature back. Right?

SHANE VEREEN IS 25 YRS OLD!

He is the Pats best receiver at RB and would actually fit quite nice as he can line up at receiver like sproles did for us.

Roy Helu would come cheaper and is just as good as Vereen. He should have gotten a bigger workload over Morris this past year.
