But I think he does teach talent how to become good football players. Like we havent had many guys become busts under his watch, and weve scored on some UFA dline talent.

What I always felt was missing form the Defensive side of the ball is it appears we don't have anyone that can develop talent and get the most form our players like other teams do. If we have a great player, or a player with a lot of skill, our coaches appear to know how to use them (most of the time), but they can't seem to develop the internally like the offensive side of the ball does regularly.

Kind of hard to develop players if your DC can't bring his own boys in town to help develop.

I'm in favor of keeping Ryan because the failures on defense have not been because of scheme, players are just not getting it done out there.

Our defense is missing too many tackles compared to last season. That's on the coaching.

That makes no sense whatsoever. That's the opposite of being on the coaching.

Bill Johnson is not good and has done nothing to make me believe the contrary. When players have consistent trouble with hand placement and leverage, then that is a coaching issue.

The D-line was shite the year Orgeron was here.

Simple fix in coaching if bears fires everyone. Then I would love kromar as oline coach again. Bring in trestman to coach oc Carmicheal bye bye. DC rob Ryan stays bring on his brother as linebacker coach Bring in Allen to coach secodary bye bye vitt hire new personal trainer to many injuries this year or keep Carmichael as special teams coach . boom fixed

Trestman can't get shite out of a loaded offense and he's a simple fix?

Face it! Whether it's 3rd and 4, 3rd and 12 or 3rd and 15, the other teams gets a first down 47.9% of the time. The Saints are defensively dead last on third down. Usually by burning the Saints with a pass while Ryan blitzes 2+ players. The league has him figured out.

You can't blitz effectively if you don't have cover DB's. His scheme is dead.

i agree we need to let CSP boys go. Ryan needs to be able to get his own guys to help run his defense, not Vitt. Special teams is horrible too

Sed Ellis had a solid rookie season and we had a prime Will Smith. Charles Grant was still around, but he was already a terrible player. In hindsight, I think Orgeron got more out of that line than he really should have. The other guys on the unit were Hollis Thomas, Kendrick Clancy, Antwan Lake, and Bobby McCray. All of those guys are waaayy less talented than what we have now IMO. They were all retreads.

It's not a great argument, but I don't believe Orgeron was as bad as Bill Johnson.

We have horrible defensive positional coaches, horrible ST, and we're getting pretty bad at OL and WR too.

Yes. I wonder if Payton will bite the bullet and let his buddies go the same way he did with Gibbs. Recently, he has shown the willingness to do that with ineffective veteran players, now we'll see if his loyalty has limits for his coaches as well.

Agreed and quality teams are built in every aspect.

FO
Coaches
Players

We cut our dead weight players when it was time. We need to do the same with our coaches. We are a victim to our own success.

Here's some of the coaches I can remember off hand. year might be off a year or two though.

Dennis Allen 2006-2007 Asst DL coach -> 2008-2010 Secondary -> 2011 Denver DC -> 2012-2014 Oakland HC

Aaron Kromer 2008 RB Coach -> 2009-2012 OL -> 2013-current Chicago OC

Curtis Johnson 2006-2011 WR Coach -> 2012-Current Tulane HC

Joe Lombardi 2007-2008 Offensive Assistant -> 2009-2013 QB Coach -> 2014 Detroit OC

Doug Marrone 2006-2008 OC/OL coach -> 2009-2012 Syracuse HC -> 2013-Current Bills HC

Those are some serious losses to overcome, but every good team has to do it. Seattle and Baltimore are two teams who have had coaches poached (for lack of a better term) from them and remained very good.
